The Bus Park

The bus park is one of my least favourite places. Located down town Kampala, its a bee hive of activity. The touts call after you and inquire whether you will be travelling to Bushenyi or Mbale. All of them shouting at you at the same time. while you are still dealing with the noise, then come the hawkers. They are always carrying stacks of bread. It seems like travellers love bread.

 the beauty about the bus park however is that you can almost get a bus plying any route in Uganda at almost anytime. Ok, at least in the morning, at lunch time and then evening. I love travelling in the morning. Except for the morning peak jam on the routes leading out of Kampala, the driver is fresh and alert and the bus is not so stuffy yet.
